Welcome to Keene Junior High!

At Keene Junior High, we’re proud to be part of a school community that embraces the IGNITE Vision of Keene ISD—where every student is encouraged to lead, grow, and thrive. Our mission is rooted in "Every Child, Every Need, Every Day," and we take that to heart in everything we do.

We believe that junior high is a pivotal time for students to discover who they are—not just as learners, but as leaders. That’s why we intentionally grow student agency in both leadership and learning, helping each child take ownership of their journey.

We also believe that relationships matter—with students, families, and our greater school community. It’s important to me, personally, that every student who walks through our doors feels safe, supported, and seen.

Through the Keene 22, we develop essential life skills and character traits that will benefit students well beyond the classroom. Additionally, through our four house system—Apasionado (Red), Reverentior (Black), Verbind (Green), and Kottaik Kwe (Purple)—we foster belonging, healthy competition, and a strong sense of community.
